The Second Chamber Music Competition "Flute and Guitar + " is born from the idea to promote the artistic career of ensembles in which the flute and guitar play a leading role as a duo or in combination with other instruments. Information:
- Chamber music formations that include flute and guitar may participate either as a duo or in combination with any instrument(s), with a maximum of 6 musicians in total.
- The maximum age of the participants cannot exceed 35 years, (having been born after July 10, 1987).
- First Prize winners of previous editions are not eligible to participate.
- It is not necessary to attend the music course "Juan Gual Esteve" in order to enter the competition. However, ensembles that wish to enter the competition and are also interested in attending the Course, to work their repertoire with the Cavatina Duo and other professors, will have a 25% reduction of the registration fee for the music course.
- When registering, each contestant will send the program, specifying which work (s) they propose for the first round and which work (s) for the final, indicating the length of the pieces.
- Contest registration fee: 35 € per Ensemble. The registration fees can not be reimbursed.
Competition:
- There will be two rounds. The first round will be held Saturday July 8th at 11 am. The final round will take place on Sunday, July 9th at 11 am.
- The repertoire will be of free choice and different in each round.
- The Duration of each round will be 15 minutes for the first and 25 to 30 minutes for the final.
- The pieces can be played in their entirety or individual movements can be chosen as well.
- Saturday July 8th, all contestants should plan to arrive by 9 am, to find out the order of participation. Following the draw, the participants will have access to study rooms where they can warm up before the competition starts.
- The competition will be held at the auditory Juan Varea in Burriana, Castellón.
